FDM Design Guides and Best Practices
Stratasys AM Research Engineers develop robust guidebooks and quick application guides to transfer years of our research into our customer’s hands. We will review the available assets and the topic areas they detail, including Composite Lay-up, Thermoforming, Metal Forming, Finishing, Light weighting, and Ducting.

FDM Qualification
We will review examples of how Stratasys customers have gone about the qualification of FDM for FAA/EASA as well as space applications in the past, and we will share the multi-year effort leading to this year’s announcement of the first public qualification of an additive technology at the National Center for Advanced Material Performance at Witchita State University under FAA oversite, which is also now leading to the AMS7100 family of specifications at the SAE.

FDM Enabling SW
We will discuss what is possible today through one of the most flexible CAM SW interfaces in additive, Insight, and what is being implemented in GrabCAD Print today and for the future to enhance capability and simplify the user experience. We will also discuss the work we are doing with partners to enable accurate structural and process simulation, with a focus on capabilities in MSC’s Digimat toolset and active work to extend those capabilities with real world examples on the vehicles in development at Boom Supersonic.
